Four-Poster Rooms

The Four-Poster rooms are either large or cosy romantic rooms.

MacRitchie is named after Robert Macritchie who was the first recorded Laird of Dalmunzie in 1574. This is a very large bedroom with a huge Queen Anne 4 poster and two seater lounge. There are wonderful views over the front lawn and a wonderful original painting of Ben Gulabin.

Winton is a large corner bedroom in a late Victorian addition to the main building. The room is named after Simon Winton who was born in the room and was director of the hotel from 1987-2004. His father Denis was a decorated fighter pilot who transformed Dalmunzie into a hotel in 1946. It includes a Jacobean 4 poster, some lovely antique furniture and views over the hotel entrance.

Ogilvie is named after Helen Ogilvie, wife of the 2nd Laird in the early 1600's. The bedroom has a Queen Anne 4 poster and it's own private turret with views of Ben Gulabin towering over the hotel. The bedroom is slightly smaller than the other large 4 poster bedrooms but is located in the oldest part of the building and is one of our most recommended rooms.

Mackenzie is a very large bedroom named after the Mackenzies who lived on Dalmunzie estate for hundreds of years. The bedroom enjoys views of Ben Gulabin with a Jacobean 4 poster and antique Georgian chest from the 18th century.

Macpherson is named after Margaret Macpherson who married the 4th Laird in 1664. This is a delightful mid-sized bedroom in the oldest part of the building and enjoys expansive views over the front lawn and down the glen. The 4-poster is Jacobean with an old chest from the early Victorian era at the foot of the bed.
