Walking

This part of Scotland is renowned for walking and there are numerous options available. The 103km circular waymarked Cateran trail runs past Dalmunzie and is a serious long distance trail. Closer to home you may wish to walk to Glenlochsie Lodge along the old railway and/or continue on to our closest Munro, Glas Tulaichean at 1051 metres. Many walkers on this route take the opportunity to return via Loch-an-Eun and the scenic Gleann Taitneach.

Glas Maol, Carn an Righ and Beinn Luthern Mhor are some of the other munro’s nearby alongside many other mountains worth conquering. If it all sounds too challenging, you may simply wish to walk along our driveway which follows the glen to our gatehouse. With fields and mountain scenery on all sides it is a wonderful walk in its own right. Our Compendium includes 10 of the most popular walks to peruse from.

Whatever you choose, Dalmunzie and its welcoming lounges and bar will be there on your return to relax and recover.
